Challenge

The sudden need to scale

In the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, Centogene was one of the best equipped companies in Germany to address the pressing need for reliable coronavirus tests.

While the Centogene laboratories had all the technology needed to run the PCR tests, the massive volume of samples which had to be processed for the rollout of pervasive testing across Germany meant a pressing need to speed operations up.

Solution

Automated laboratory workflows

The custom Laboratory Information Management System we developed for this purpose streamlines the entire testing workflow.

Our software handles the prioritization and end-to-end tracking of collected samples as well as the preparation, running and validation of qPCR test batches.

We also integrated the laboratory hardware and provided visual guidance for lab technicians using tablet devices to accelerate batch testing and keeping errors at minimum.
